How To Cook Sauteed Chinese Yam

Ingredients

  • 1 Chinese Yam
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 scallion (diced)
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce

Cooking Steps

  • Peel the Chinese Yam(wear gloves and hold with paper towel to avoid itchiness) and cut it into thin slices or matchstick-like shapes. Soak the sliced yam in cold water to remove excess starch.
  • Mince the slice the scallion for later use.
  • Heat the cooking oil in a pan or wok over medium heat.
  • Drain the Chinese Yam slices and add them to the pan. Continue frying for another 5-7 minutes until the yam becomes golden.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings of your choice, such as soy sauce.
  • Stir-fry everything together for a couple more minutes to ensure the flavors are well combined, add the minced scallion at the end.
